WedgeView’s central location means that over 15 courses, with varying styles and difficulties, can be reached within a 30 to 35-minute drive, including some Championship courses. Below you’ll find some of our personal favourites:

    De Zalze GC – Combination of Links & Parklands

    The De Zalze Golf Course situated within the De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate was designed by Peter Matkovich, who made the most of the stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy.

    The course has an excellent mix of parkland holes with its main challenges presented in the form of the water features on several holes, as well as the Oak tree lined Blaauwklippen River which winds its way through the Golf Estate and comes into play at various intervals.

    Stellenbosch – Parklands Golf Course

    Stellenbosch Golf Club has already celebrated its centenary, but it was only in 1953 that it grew from a 9-hole course into 18 holes. It has a championship layout that has hosted many prestigious tournaments in the past. Amongst others, the South African Open and South African Masters were hosted at this picturesque 18-hole layout.

    Erinvale – home of the SA Open Championship – Parklands Golf Course

    The Erinvale Golf Course has been hosting the South African Open twice already. It is situated in the heart of Somerset West and it is surrounded by 4 of the Capes most famous wine estates. The 18-holes measering 6400 meters in total and have lush parklands and a magnificent view of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. With cleverly places bunkers and water hazards it will challenge the highly-skilled golfer. Whether you are scratch or purely social, you arrive a visitor, but leave a friend.

    Pearlvalley – Parklands Golf Course


    Strand – Parklands golf course

    The Strand Golf Club has been known for its greens over the years which have provided an excellent putting surface. The prominent features of the course are the abundant water hazards and bunkers, undulating greens and tree-lined fairways. Many of the holes on the back 9 play in semi-links style.

    After the golf enjoy a drink at the upstairs terrace of the modern clubhouse as you look over the finishing hole and the sparkling water features with the beautiful Hottentots Holland Mountains as backdrop.

    Steenberg GC – Parklands Golf Course

    Unmistakable in its authenticity, Steenberg is a place of textured heritage, vintage wines and world-class golfing.

    The Steenberg golf course is rated as one of the top three courses to visit in South Africa, while the Estate itself has earned global recognition as a flagship residential address. Situated mere minutes from the Cape Town city centre, Steenberg is a first-class destination for fine dining, wines of origin and luxury hotel accommodation. Steeped in the Cape Dutch tradition, history has an elegant, almost tangible quality at Steenberg. Nestled in the crook of the Constantiaberg Mountains, the Estate is a piece of time-crafted perfection some three centuries in the making.

    Paarl GC – Parklands Golf Course

    The stunning 27-hole Paarl Golf Course is situated in the picturesque valley on the outskirts of South Africa’s third-oldest town, Paarl. The course, first laid out on the banks of the Berg River in the 1950s, has been redesigned by Danie Obermeyer and David Frost. David Frost, a Paarl native and still a prominent winemaker in the area, has brought local knowledge and experience gained on both the US and European professional golf tours in assisting in the design of the course.

    The Course is a unique 27 hole facility – some holes meander along the Berg River while many are tree-lined lush green channels which present the golfer with a smooth mix of risk and reward. Water hazards are the most prominent challenge with the majority of holes having a water trap that needs careful consideration by any golfer – even the Pro’s.

    Devonvale GC – Parklands Golf Course

    The magnificent 18-hole championship golf course needs little introduction offering a regular challenge to both local and international golfers. The original layout, designed by Ken Elkin, who designed many of the Capes better known courses, has seen several improvements of late.

    The kikuyu fairways and bent greens are manicured with the utmost care to ensure a pleasant and true golfing experience. Standing on the first tee, one immediately senses the natural beauty of the winelands, one of the main reasons the course is enjoyed by members and visitors time after time.
