Relax in the warmth of the sunshine and let our stunning views fill your senses while you enjoy our sumptuous Full English and Continental breakfast, served al fresco.

WedgeView has become well known for its fabulous breakfasts with the large continental spread of home cooked ham, freshly baked croissants and rolls, not to mention the home-made jams it’s not surprising! Many people say that the “Uitsmijter” (our fry-up, not for the faint hearted!) is the perfect start to the perfect day!

Then walk, or simply ramble around our expansive 3-acre gardens, take time to enjoy the amazing view and enjoy a dip in one of our pools.

Or do you rather relax in the Spa having a decadent treatment?

The WedgeView Main house is yours to enjoy. It has two beautiful lounges, luxuriously appointed with stunning views over the mountains and vineyards. Fireplaces add warmth and cosiness during winter and the open thatched lounge upstairs and balcony are both perfect to gather for a drink from the bar before dinner.

Begin your day with our renowned Continental breakfast buffet and/or choose from our “hot breakfast” à la carte menu for something more substantial whilst absorbing the beautiful surrounding scenery.

Lunch is served daily from 12:00 until 15:00 from our seasonal à la carte menu incorporating the best local produce and prepared for your pleasure.

Our kitchen/restaurant is not open for dinner every evening, but dinners are on request only. Our chef Linda prepares lovely dinners or a Braai (on request) combining modern techniques with traditional principles to create 3 course dinners, which you can combine with our select wine list to offer an experience to savour.

The 3-course Dinners have to be booked a minimum of 72 hours in advance, but please check with the front office if there are any dinners already planned during your stay, because it could well be that we have and we would of course love to have you for dinner too.

Please don’t forget to inform us of any special dietary requirements or allergies beforehand, so that the chef can prepare something special for you.

Snacks & Platters

We do serve lovely Winelands Platters with a range of locally sourced cheeses and cold meats and condiments which is served with lovely fresh baguette or ciabatta. Other options are a snack Platter or a bread platter.

Another option is to choose from our Home Made Soup menu and enjoy this with fresh bread or combine it with a platter, which is the perfect option if you have had a large lunch and there is no dinner served that specific evening.

Social & Environmental Responsibility

The Bakker family’s love of nature is obvious to all who visit WedgeView Country House & Spa and see the glorious gardens they have established and the great effort they have taken to include the natural elements indoors. The tinkling waterfall plus the huge expanse of glass windows in the Main house and upstairs lounge/conference area all pay tribute to this. Anouk and Dave together with the young Bakkers’ often go on hikes in the area or spend time at the Vineyard dam. They spend as much time outdoors as they can.

Conservation is taken very seriously by WedgeView Country House & Spa. Education of all the staff, introducing energy saving devices, water conservation and cleaner production are some of the many ways that WedgeView is making its contribution towards a cleaner, safer and more sustainable planet.

The staff of WedgeView is committed to the sustainable development of the area in a way that has the least possible impact on the natural environment.

  • Rainwater tanks have recently been installed to catch rainwater from our roofs, which can be used to top up our pools
  • Filtered grey water is re-used in the garden to irrigate the garden.
  • To reduce the electrical usage, a solar power system has been installed to heat up both of our pools
  • Solar heated geysers and solar panels have been installed to warm up all the water for the rooms, also to reduce the electrical usage
  • Waste from the kitchen is turned into compost and used in the organic vegetable and herb garden
